Braxton Fuller

b. 1992, American

Biography

Born in 1992, Braxton Fuller is a self-taught abstract artist from Kansas City. Where the artist struggles to communicate his emotions as a person, he expresses these emotions through unique vocabulary symbols in his artistic practice.

As with Marcel Broodthaers, the American artist started his creative career as a poetry writer which transformed into text art or Conceptual Art. Over the years, Fuller discovered he could say more by creating his own alphabet and language. The artist started to create symbols paired with his expressive abstract visual language on canvas.

Even though Fuller’s symbols have no direct translation, they persuade the viewer to feel or experience the artist’s emotions. Or even beyond the picture, or rather, the bigger picture; life, humanity, individual or collective challenges, and more.

Every single artwork represents a moment in the life of the artist, as Fuller aims to connect with the viewer through his life experiences. Using various media on canvas, Fuller’s bold symbols take communication to the forefront of the viewer’s mind. Instead of being a prisoner of his thoughts, art is the key for Fuller to leave his cell. It is an outlet to allow the viewer to enter his world.
