Boris Mikhailov: Case History & The Wedding

Suzanne Tarasieve, Paris

From October 15 until November 19, Boris Mikhaïlov showcases two series of works at Suzanne Tarasieve in Paris, titled Case History (1997-1998) and The Wedding (2006).

The Ukrainian fine art photographer created both seminal photographic series in his native city, Kharkiv.

Quentin Emery: “Unclassifiable and singular, the work of Boris Mikhaïlov, who has made experimental photography since the 1960s, belongs both to the documentary and staged image. His work shows his desire to represent life in its most real and raw form. However, his research leads him to be interested not in snapshots that supposedly capture daily life; instead, he focuses on subjects consciously operating a self-mise-en-scène and presenting themselves to the outsider in their most beautiful light.”
